Lleida is the city where the Moors and Christians celebrations began. Evidence of that was found in some documents from the year 1150.
Lots of important kings and queens from all over Europe and especially from Spain came to see the theatre play of the fight between the Moors and the Christians.
Nowadays the theatre play is the ending of the celebration, before it, the actors march all around the city.
